BI 3263 Special Topics in Tropical Marine Ecology


Ecology of Curacao and its surrounding marine areas.

Qualifies as an Academic Field Experience. Students will study the natural history and ecology of Curacao and its surrounding marine areas. Curacao is in the Caribbean and as such its ecology is very different to that of Maine. Students will visit coral reefs, mangrove forests, and National Parks to study the different habitats within the island.

Instructor: Dr. Emma Perry
Dates: First two weeks are at Unity College and the third week in Curacao.
May 15 – 19  : Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
May 22 – 26 : Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Sunday, May 28 – Leave campus fly out of Boston
Sunday, June 4 – Fly into Boston and return to campus
